Why Recent Polls Show President Obama Viewed More Favorable Nationwide than any of the 2012 GOP Candidates

Favorability poll shows that in spite of the GOP's continued false attacks and accusations about President Obama, the american people are now beginning to see a clear contrast and misrepresentation of what the GOP is saying and what is REALLY happening in the country.  After listening to John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Mitch McConnell, the entire GOP controlled house and all of the GOP 2012 candidates, flood the airways day after day stating "This President has done NOTHING to create jobs", the american people are now finding out that the REALTRUTH is President Obama created 3.2 million jobs in two years.    The unemployment rate dropping from over 9% that the Bush Administration created to 8.5%.   This is more jobs than George W. Bush created in his entire eight years as President.  The republicans then continue to falsely attack the Presidents stimulus package, calling it a failure.  Again, the REAL TRUTH  is the stimulus kept this country from going into a depression that most economist were sure we were headed for.

Mitt Romney stated emphatically that if Obama bailed out the auto industry it would be a disaster for this country.  Proven wrong yet again, the auto bailout was a huge sucess and the auto industry is back even stronger.  Romney is also attacking the Presidents healthcare reform plan calling it (Obamacare) while trying to hide the fact that he initiated the same plan in his state and was seen on a video not only praising the plan but saying how the people in his state "loved it."  The REAL TRUTH is the Presidents healthcare reform plan is now saving lives and providing urgently needed healthcare to many americans.  For the entire GOP house and all of the GOP 2012 candidates to insist on getting rid of this plan in its entirety, not even suggesting to make changes to strengthen it, lacks a serious amount of compassion and concern for those 45,000 americans who died each year from having NO healthcare coverage.  Yet they fight to get even more tax cuts for the rich.  We can see clearly where their priorities are.

Another deception was when the GOP called the President weak in handling foreign affairs, etc.  The REAL TRUTH is this President used navy seals to capture and kill more than 20 of the most wanted terrorist, not to mention using navy seals to rescue american hostages, making it safer for americans.  He has also improved our foreign relations with other countries which was negative during the Bush administration.  Along with the Presidents 244 accomplishments in his first two years in office (more than any other President in history), he continues to make extraordinary accomplishments.  THIS IS A FAR CRY FROM FAILURE AMERICA.

Isan't it time we ask ourselves the most serious and important question?  Like why do republicans and tea party representatives continue to call EVERYTHING this President accomplishes a failure?  Why all of the lies?  Did the Presidents 244 accomplishments scare the GOP?  If one can govern or run for President based on THEIR own merits, it would not be necessary to falsely attack and misinform the american people.

There are reasons for this type of inexcusable behavior.  Mitch McConnell made it very clear after the President took office.  He stated that "their #1 priority was to make Obama a one term President."  The key words here is "their #1 priority" and "to make."  Using a hateful ideology, deception, misinformation and fear while holding important legislation hostage shows that the GOP controlled house as well as the 2012 candidates will do ANYTHING to stop this President from moving the country forward and that they meant what they said.  The GOP's FEAR of this Presidents success and recognition, FEAR of loss of power, FEAR of a democratic President cleaning up their mess showing their incompetence and failures and FEAR that changes will be made to take away their power to appease the rich, is why they are driven by this very hateful ideology.

A CBS new poll showed 91% of americans approved of the Presidents state of the union message.  An unusually high number.  The Presidents message reminded us and made clear just how badly the GOP has mislead and deceived the american people and the false picture of failure, gloom and doom (using fear) to make their " #1 priority" "make Obama a one term President" a reality.

The GOP  -  A Party of FEAR and FAILURE?

We got it right in 2008 when we unified and voted for Obama.  Don't be deceived again.  Obama 2012 WITHOUT QUESTION.

The next election is going to be the most defining election of our time. It will define us as individuals, our integrity and morality. We will set a standard of what is acceptable in our country for our children and families. Will we be governed by a hateful ideology, fear, deception, gloom & doom because it will not just stop with Obama. Is that acceptable people. Will we be governed by a message of hope, progress and moving this country forward in spite of opposition (244 accomplishments in two years). You can hate and name call all you want but it will not change these facts. A clear choice in 2012.

Yes, it is going to be a defining moment.

To push a hateful ideology of fear and gloom and doom (well put by the way) takes so much energy. To sit and be angry, to simply fill yourself with hate not only has this terrible effect on your body, but it creates isolation from those around you.

The Tea Party is doing just that right now, and the GOP needs to separate from it. They will never see success until that happens. (not that I care... I've always voted Democrat)

I'm not thrilled with Obama, but the current GOP candidates are gross. There's no Reagan waiting in the wings like 1980. Obama should win 2012 by default - plus his 2008 campaign was brilliant and we'll see a lot of those lessons learned come to play.

Whether that's true or not, he was popular and good with talking to voters. We kind of know even 2 years before 1980 that Carter was finished next election.

President Obama has signed a document voiding the Bill of Rights and allowing dictatorship in the USA! That, in itself is treason. If you think he's doing good for us, you're part of the problem!

      @Sparrow,

      You do have a point.

That said, I'd like to point out that the Imperial Presidency did not start with Obama. I'm aware that it's beating a dead horse, but that doesn't change the fact that George W. Bush laid a good deal of the foundation for the surveillance/ police state that the USA has become.

Before Obama signed the NDAA with a signing statement, Bush 43 signed USA PATRIOT, and granted himself the right to declare people "enemy combatants" and have them detained indefinitely without the right to due process for the sake of "national security."

Now, Bush might not have used his powers against the American people, and neither might Obama in a second term. But historically, these types of laws have eventually ALWAYS been used againist the American people, to criminalize dissent and intimidate would-be dissenters. Yesterday's "Communist sympathizer" will be tomorrow's "terrorist," especially "Islamic jihadi."

One day, these laws WILL bite the American people in our collective @$$es...it's just a matter of WHO will be the President when it happens.

Ben Franklin said that a peope who value security over freedom deserve neither. In time, someone will take (the rest of) the freedom away from us...if We The People don't wake up.

I couldn't agree with you more. The entire Bush Administration should also have been tried. When the people start to pull the curtain back and see what's truly going on, I have a feeling many high level people will be sitting in prison and rightfully so!

The thing to me is, the GOP and the Tea Party have spent the last 4 years calling Obama pretty much every name in the book. Painting him as everything from un-American, a foreign born usurper, rabid socialist, radical Muslim, and pretty much anything else they can think of.

So where do they go from here? America has *already* heard all their tired old accusations and pretty much already decided regarding them.

So how exactly do they "ratchet up" their attacks against Obama without crossing over (even further) into LaLa Land? What's left to accuse him of?

How about let's stop the polarizing? I don't think it's just Republicans who are not satisfied with the job the President has done/is doing. People do have a right to discuss their displeasure, or has that been taken away TOO?

Who's taking away any ones right to say anything? What I am saying is that calling the President of the United States a "socialist Kenyan Muslim radical who is trying to destroy America" is a bit beyond "discussing your displeasure" and when that rhetoric fails to persuade people doesn't leave you any where to go but sink even lower.

The GOP's behavior has gone far beyond discussing their displeasure. We are talking about deceiving the american people, fear mongering, blatent lies, holding legislation after legislation hostage to accomplish their #1 priority "make Obama fail." This was straight out of the horses mouth (Mitch McConnell) and many other GOP reps.

It is one thing to discuss your displeasure. It is another thing to just out right out lie, sabotage bills in the house of representatives and work relentlessly against every effort of the President of the US to move this country forward.
